Uses of Argo for climate

I can't be too committal yet, but I hope that someone from here would be able to come and talk about uses of Argo for climate - probably Sheila Stark, Peili Wu or me. I fear it would still at the stage of what Argo *will* give us in terms of defining interannual variability in various parts of the ocean. Sheila Stark has a nice paper following up Helene's work on 32S Indian Ocean, but the main conclusion is that occasional hydrographic sections are simply not enough to answer the questions we would like to ask about what's going on - hence a real need for Argo.
