AST Working Group on Systematic Pressure Errors

At its recent meeting the Argo Steering Team formed a working group, chaired by S. Wijffels, to investigate known and possible systematic pressure errors in all models of Argo floats. See Action Items 15 and 16 in the Report of the AST-9 meeting. As part of this effort, the pressure working group requires meta-data such as CTD serial number, that may not yet be included in meta-files for some Argo Programs. For quickest progress on this important issue, the AST strongly endorses the release of meta-data by float manufacturers directly to the pressure working group, noting that all Argo Programs have agreed to the Argo open data policy which includes public availability of meta-data.
